WonderSTEM Afterschool Recreation Program Terms & Conditions
Welcome to the WonderSTEM Afterschool Recreation Program, designed for children age 5+. Our program provides a safe, engaging, and enriching afterschool experience through recreational robotics building, math puzzles, fun reading, and other supervised STEM-based activities, along with complimentary nut-free snacks.
By registering for the program, parents/guardians agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Program Eligibility
The WonderSTEM Afterschool Recreation Program is open to children age 5 and older.
2. Program Hours
The program operates Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on regular school days, unless otherwise communicated.
Children must be picked up no later than 6:00 pm.
3. Program Nature
This is a recreational afterschool program. Activities may include:
• robotics building and STEM challenges
• math puzzles and logic games
• supervised fun reading time
• quiet table activities and creative enrichment
The program is designed as an enriching recreational program. It is not intended to replicate formal tutoring or licensed childcare services unless otherwise stated.
4. School Pickup and Parent Drop-Off
For schools within our designated pickup area, WonderSTEM instructors will personally meet children at dismissal and walk them together to our learning center in a supervised group. This provides a safe, smooth, and reassuring transition from the school day to the afterschool program.
Families may also choose to drop off their child directly at the WonderSTEM learning center for the afterschool program. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the child arrives safely and is signed in by WonderSTEM staff.
Parents/guardians must confirm in advance whether their child will use WonderSTEM school pickup or parent drop-off, and must notify WonderSTEM of any change to the regular arrangement.
5. Arrival and Sign-In
Upon arrival at the WonderSTEM learning center, each child will be checked in by WonderSTEM staff and directed to their designated program area.
Parents/guardians must ensure that WonderSTEM has accurate attendance, emergency contact, medical, allergy, and authorized pickup information on file before the child begins the program.
6. Snacks and Food
WonderSTEM will provide complimentary nut-free snacks each program day.
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing WonderSTEM in writing of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions. While WonderSTEM aims to provide a nut-free snack environment, WonderSTEM cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Children may be asked not to share food with others for safety reasons.
7. Health and Wellness
Children should not attend the program if they are unwell or showing symptoms of contagious illness.
If a child becomes ill during program hours, parents/guardians or emergency contacts will be contacted and must arrange prompt pickup.
Any medication required during program hours must be discussed with WonderSTEM in advance and may only be administered where appropriate written authorization has been provided.
8. Authorized Pickup and Dismissal
Children will only be released to:
• a parent/guardian, or
• an individual listed as an authorized pickup person on the registration form
Parents/guardians must notify WonderSTEM in advance of any change to pickup arrangements.
For safety and smooth dismissal, WonderSTEM may require parents to call, text, or otherwise notify staff upon arrival for pickup.
9. Late Pickup Policy
Program hours end promptly at 6:00 pm.
A late pickup fee will apply for any child picked up after 6:00 pm:
$15 for every 15-minute increment, beginning at 6:01 pm.
Examples:
• 6:01 pm – 6:15 pm: $15
• 6:16 pm – 6:30 pm: $30
Repeated late pickups may result in review of the family’s continued participation in the program.
10. Fees and Payment
• Full-Time Program (5 days per week): $420 + HST per month (Bi-weekly installment option: $215 + HST)
• Part-Time Program (1–4 days per week): contact WonderSTEM for pricing details
Program fees are the same whether a child uses WonderSTEM school pickup or parent drop-off, unless otherwise stated in writing.
To secure a child’s placement in the program, a deposit equivalent to one bi-weekly installment is required and will be applied to the child’s final two weeks of attendance, provided proper withdrawal notice is given in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
A child’s space is only confirmed once registration forms are completed and payment requirements are met.
11. Absences and Program Cancellation
No refunds, credits, or make-up classes will be provided for absences due to illness, vacations, school events, weather-related absences, or other personal scheduling conflicts, unless otherwise approved by WonderSTEM in writing.
If a child’s school is cancelled or closed due to weather conditions or other circumstances beyond WonderSTEM’s control, the WonderSTEM Afterschool Program will also be cancelled for that day. In such cases, program fees are not refundable and not transferable.
12. Withdrawal and Cancellation
If a family wishes to withdraw from the program, two weeks’ written notice is required.
The deposit will be applied to the child’s final two weeks in the program only when the required written notice is provided.
If sufficient notice is not given, the deposit may be forfeited and additional fees may apply depending on the withdrawal date and payment cycle.
Any registration or administrative fees, if applicable, are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by WonderSTEM.
13. Afterschool Family Benefits
Families enrolled in the WonderSTEM Afterschool Program are eligible for the following special benefits:
PA Day Camp Discount
Afterschool families receive 10% off WonderSTEM PA Day Camps. This discount applies only when a PA Day Camp operates. A minimum of 4 children is required for a PA Day Camp to run.
Annual Digital Voucher Benefit
Afterschool families will receive three (3) digital vouchers of $10 each per calendar year for use toward other eligible WonderSTEM programs outside the afterschool program.
Voucher terms:
• each voucher has a value of $10
• one voucher may be used for every $200 spent
• vouchers are for non-afterschool programs only
• unused vouchers expire at the end of each calendar year
• vouchers are non-transferable
• vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash
WonderSTEM reserves the right to define which programs are eligible for voucher use and to update voucher procedures with notice.
14. Behaviors Expectations
WonderSTEM is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants.
Children are expected to:
• follow staff instructions
• behave respectfully toward peers, staff, and materials
• participate safely in activities
• avoid disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior
If a child’s behavior affects the safety or experience of others, WonderSTEM may contact parents/guardians to discuss support strategies. In serious or repeated cases, WonderSTEM reserves the right to suspend or withdraw the child from the program.
15. Personal Belongings
Children should keep personal belongings labeled where possible.
WonderSTEM is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items brought to the program.
16. Emergency Procedures
In the case of emergency, WonderSTEM staff may take appropriate action to protect the child’s health and safety, including contacting emergency services when necessary.
Parents/guardians authorize WonderSTEM to seek emergency medical assistance for their child if they cannot be reached in time.
Any costs related to medical treatment or emergency transport remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
17. Photos and Media
From time to time, WonderSTEM may take photos or videos of program activities for internal records, parent communication, or promotional purposes.
No child’s image will be used for public promotional purposes without parent/guardian consent where required.
18. Program Changes
WonderSTEM reserves the right to make reasonable changes to:
• daily activity schedules
• snack offerings
• staffing arrangements
• room usage
• operational procedures
• fees, benefits, or policies with advance notice where applicable

By registering for the WonderSTEM Afterschool Recreation Program, the parent/guardian confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
